Moving and Handling

Moving and handling injuries make up over 33% of workplace accidents, increased compensation payouts from civil actions and estimated 1.9million working days lost per year.  Many businesses are wrongly under the impression that this does not apply to them because they are primarily an office environment.

Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended 2002) every business has a duty to:

·         Avoid the need for hazardous manual handling (so far as is reasonably practicable)

·         Assess the risk of injury from any hazardous manual handling that can’t be avoided

·         Reduce the risk of injury from hazardous manual handling so far as is reasonably  

           practicable.

Have your staff trained to avoid injury, absence and insurance claims.
